Image
Nene Chicken Review Vlog :) So on the 21st of May, Kerry, Cathy, Ren, Sarah, and Rebecca went out to review Korean Chicken restaurant, Nene Chicken.  At the restaurant we decided to review all of the different flavours of chicken on the menu; Original, Snowing Cheese Chicken, Swicy (Sweet/Spicy), Bulgogi, Snowing Vegetable, Garlic, Freaking Hot. Click here to watch our vlog! Here are the results in ranking:  Bulgogi                      (21/25)  Original                     (18/25)  Snowing Cheese      (16/25)  Swicy                        (14/25)  Garlic                        (13/25)  Snowing Vegetable  (12/25)  Freaking Hot             (7/25) As we can see the Bulgogi chicken was most popular and the Freaking Hot chicken... not so popular. Most of the group would not recommend eating the freaking hot chicken if you are not good with spicy spicyyy food :(. Overall it was a nice team bonding experience and we would eat here again :)

KK's.. Mmm...

Image
Krispy Kreme... Mmm... By Cathy Something simple, yet undeniably delicious, Krispy Kreme has been around since 1937, it's an American doughnut company and coffeehouse chain founded in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Krispy Kreme (or KK's, as most like to call it), is most famous for their mouthwatering doughnuts, rather than their coffee. Their most famous doughnut is the Original Glazed doughnut.  Image Source: https://slickdeals.net/article/news/grab-a-dozen-krispy-kreme-donuts-for-just-5-99/  However my favourite is the strawberry jam filled doughnut (yummy!) Image Source: https://www.krispykreme.com.au/strawberry-jam-doughnut  Some of their other popular doughnuts are, strawberry iced, cinnamon sugar, chocolate iced, glazed  lemon filled, and many more. All of which you can browse on their  site Some of their stores in Australia are located in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, and Gold Coast. So next time you're in  any of these cities make sure

By adding the strawberry gel to the combin

Holy Basil Laos & Thai Restaurant

Image
Holy Basil Laos & Thai Restaurant By Sarah Holy Basil is a Laos & Thai Restaurant that offers different types of Laos & Thai food, for example appetisers (spring rolls, skewers), seafood dishes (fish, prawns, snapper, crab, calamari, mussels), grilled dishes (pork sausages, BBQ beef, charcoal chicken, lamb cutlets), curries (masaman curry, red curry, green curry, panang curry), salads, stir fired dishes, soups, noodle dishes, rice dishes and desserts. The dishes that I would recommend are fresh crispy snapper and mango salad, roast duck red curry, and Holy Basil fried ice cream.   Fresh crispy snapper and mango salad is a seafood dish that includes fried snapper fish, mango salad (green mangos, coriander, mint, lime juice, sugar and fish sauce). The mix of fried fish and fresh mango salad is very refreshing and interesting, as the mango salad tastes sweet and sour. I would recommend this dish for people who enjoy sour flavours and fried fish.   R

Black Star Pastry

Image
Black Star Pastry By Cathy Black Star Pastry (located in Sydney) is famous for their Strawberry and Watermelon Cake, also known as, "The World's Most Instagrammable Cake". This cake is composed of six layers, first being the dacquoise layer, then the rose scented cream, then a watermelon slice, then another layer of the cream, once again another layer of the dacquoise, then the last layer being the rose scented cream again. This is then set in the fridge. After it's set, strawberries and grapes are added to the last layer of cream. A glaze is then brushed on top of the fruits and rose petals and pistachios are sprinkled on top. Next time you're in Sydney this cake is a must try :)

It is paired with powdered soy and is quite the healthy snack. 2. Crepe cake This french classic is now in trend with a huge stack of crepes forming a cake. Yayoi Japanese Teishoku Restaurant

Image
Yayoi Japanese Teishoku Restaurant By Sarah Yayoi is a Japanese Teishoku Restaurant that serves different types of Japanese dishes, which include teishoku (meal set), udon (noodles), Ă  la carte (individuals dishes), sushi and desserts.   The dishes that I would recommend are Pork Loin Katsu Teishoku, Wagyu Niku Udon and Teriyaki Chicken Teishoku.   The Pork Loin Katsu Teishoku is a set meal that includes fried pork cutlet, rice, steamed vegetables, salad, Tonkatsu sauce and miso soup. I recommend this dish for people who like fried pork, as the Pork Loin Katsu is very crispy and crunchy. And for people who like sweet sauce, as the Tonkatsu sauce that complements the Pork Loin Katsu, is a Japanese style barbecue sauce.   Wagyu Niku Udon is a noodle dish that includes udon noodles, wagyu beef and slow cooked egg. I recommend this dish for people who like udon noodles and people who likes drinking warm broth.   The udon dish contains wagyu beef that is tender and mois

Image
Yomie's Rice X Yogurt By Ren Address: Shop 6/683-689 George St, Sydney NSW 2000 Open hours: Monday - Sunday, 11am - 10pm Here's a new option for your beverage list. Who would have thought such a combination would taste surprisingly good. If you have happened to pass by Haymarket at Chinatown in recent months, then you may have noticed a long queue for Yomie's rice and yogurt. Image source (Ren Hong, phone camera ) There are many varieties to choose from, ranging from the top seller purple rice or oats, frozen yogurt and yogurt smoothie with different flavours of fruits. And they also offer warm alternatives for the fast approaching Winter. Image source (Ren Hong, phone camera) At first,  I was sceptical about the combination of rice and yogurt, turning it into a beverage. Only after trying it (being dragged to) that it completely changed my mind. It's a chilled yogurt drink with purple rice in it. The rice is quite chewy similar to the pearls in

UberEats... Is It Worth It?

Image
UberEats… Is it Worth It? By Cathy I’m pretty sure we all know what UberEats is, it’s just like a pizza delivery app except it isn’t just pizza, you can order from any local restaurant and they’ll deliver straight to your door. Image Source:  https://www.ubereats.com/en-US/ But what are the pros and cons of UberEats anyway? Pros: You don't have to drive or walk to get food If you're too tired/lazy (like me) then UberEats is really useful You can order from restaurants that don't deliver You can track your UberEats driver just like the Uber app Cons: There's a delivery fee and it may or may not be worth it depending on what you're ordering The food can come to you cold, melted etc if your UberEats driver doesn't use a thermal bag Image Source:  https://eng.uber.com/ubereats-react-native/

Tropical fruits to try

Image
Tropical fruits to try By Kerry Fruit are often overlooked in the foodie world as everyone knows the usual apple, watermelon and coconut. But in fact there are many exciting tropical fruits which although may be hard to get your hands on, (as many aren't stocked in the usual supermarkets). Will be worth every single bite. 1.Feijoa The gritty fruit has a tangy taste and also similar to a pineapple strawberry and guava all combined in one. Feijoa also tastes great when juiced. Image source 2. Soursop This prickly one  is quite juicy and acidic. Like the name it is sour but still is sweet at the same time. Tasting like a combination of  pineapple, banana and papaya. Image source 3.Mangosteen This thick shelled fruit is subtle, yet has a sweet-acid taste. The fruit itself has the texture of a lychee and tastes like a combination of peach, lychee and banana. Image source 4.Yuzu It's a sour citrus fruit which tastes like  a cross between

PappaRich Malaysian Restaurant

Image
PappaRich Malaysian Restaurant By Sarah Papparich offers a wide range of Malaysian food including, roti, Hainan bread, dim sum, rice, noodles and more. The dishes that I would recommend are roti canai with curry chicken, Pappa special nasi goreng with fried chicken and curry laksa.   I recommend roti canai with curry chicken for people who like to eat curry and spicy flavours. Roti is usually eaten as an entree, but can also be a main dish. The roti at PappaRich is freshly made, therefore it is crispy and crunchy on the outside, but soft and tender on the inside.   Pappa special nasi goreng with fried chicken is another dish that I recommend, as nasi goreng is a signature Malaysian meal, that is suitable for many people as it is not spicy. With the addition of crispy fried chicken this dish is a fulfilling main meal.   The last dish that I recommend is curry laksa, and I recommend curry laksa for people who likes Hokkien noodles and can eat mildly spicy foods
