Tropical fruits to try

Tropical fruits to try

By Kerry

Fruit are often overlooked in the foodie world as everyone knows the usual apple, watermelon and coconut. But in fact there are many exciting tropical fruits which although may be hard to get your hands on, (as many aren't stocked in the usual supermarkets). Will be worth every single bite.

1.Feijoa

The gritty fruit has a tangy taste and also similar to a pineapple strawberry and guava all combined in one. Feijoa also tastes great when juiced.

2. Soursop

This prickly one is quite juicy and acidic. Like the name it is sour but still is sweet at the same time. Tasting like a combination of pineapple, banana and papaya.

3.Mangosteen

This thick shelled fruit is subtle, yet has a sweet-acid taste. The fruit itself has the texture of a lychee and tastes like a combination of peach, lychee and banana.

4.Yuzu
It's a sour citrus fruit which tastes like a cross between grapefruit and lime. It is often used for zest and also its juice.
